Large Vessel Stuck in Suez Canal, Disrupting Traffic in Prominent Europ-Asia Trade Route

A large shipping vessel stuck in Egypt’s Suez canal may mean a deep economic impact for world trade as the vessel remains stuck disrupting commercial traffic.
This Tuesday, a large container ship turned sideways blocking all traffic in the prominent trade route.
The problem: along with lost, damaged or delayed cargo, the blockage means other ships and tankers are piling up and are not delivering goods from Europe to Asia.
Each year the Suez Canal accounts for an estimated 10 percent of world trade seeing on average 50 vessels a day.
The company that owns the stuck vessel says the Evergiven suffered from a blackout while traveling northbound.
So far, there is official response as to what caused the incident. However, some suspect it may have been strong winds.
