Carolina Hurricanes forward Nino Niederreiter is suspended for one game.

The punishment is implemented because he slashed Washington Capitals forward Axel Jonsson-Fjallby during the Canes 4-3 loss at home on Friday night.  The incident happened in the first period, and Niederreiter was given a minor penalty.
