Houghton Lake Man Arrested for Assault with Intent in Roscommon Co.
On Sunday evening a Michigan State Police trooper was dispatched to a domestic assault in progress at an address on Sandhill Manor Drive in Denton Township.
The victim had run outside her home and was yelling for someone to call 911.
State police say the trooper immediately noticed a woman trying to wave him down. The trooper asked where the suspect was, and she pointed to a vehicle driving away. The trooper stopped the vehicle and identified the suspect as 35-year-old Michael Lee Senrud from Houghton Lake.
The victim alleged Senrud and her had gotten into an argument while he was there picking up his belongings.
The victim stated he was not welcome in the home; however, he was on the lease.
During the argument, Senrud allegedly assaulted her and grabbed her by the throat. Senrud was placed under arrest and lodged in the Roscommon County Jail.
Senrud and his attorney waived his arraignment in Roscommon County for one count Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm less than Murder.
His bond was set at $25,000.
