A Cadillac man is now facing charges after investigators say he tried to dispose of his girlfriend's body.

On December 14th, Wexford County Deputies responded to the 3800 block of Cecil Road for the report that a waste services employee noticed a woman's body in the back of their garbage truck, covered with a garbage bag and blankets, with her ankles and knees tied together.

An investigation soon lead deputies to find the body had been in the garbage bin at 3660 Cecil Road.

They interviewed two men who lived in the home, one man denied any involvement, but another, 30-year-old Kyle Dickinson told deputies his on again off again girlfriend Laken Clark had last been at the home days prior, and after a disagreement, left with three men, and hadn't been seen since.

An autopsy confirmed the body was Clark and that she had been dead for several days.

Her cause of death was undetermined, but toxicology results turned up meth and fentanyl in her system.

But medical examiners also found injuries that were sustained prior to her death, including blunt force trauma.

Investigators searched Dickinson's home and in the basement, they found a large pool of blood behind the stairs. Blood was also found on the steps and walls of the stairway.

A storage tote on the deck of the home was also said to have had blood in it.

In an interview, Dickinson claimed he found Clark dead in the basement, after what he thought was an overdose.

He told detectives he believed she had left the home.

Dickinson said he panicked because he was on bond in another case and waited until garbage day before putting her body in the bin.

Michigan law protects people from criminal charges if they find a body and are not connected to the death.

And for actions, prosecutors charged Dickinson with concealing a death, tampering with evidence, and habitual offender third offense.

His bond was set at 500,000 and Dickinson's next court date is Tuesday.
