(NEWSnet) — Authorities are warning about the dangers of yet another social media challenge.

At least four people have died in Alabama attempting a dangerous TikTok challenge where people leap off moving boats and hit the water, officials said.

The danger is that jumpers are hitting the water at a high rate of speed.

Jim Dennis, a rescue squad captain, calls the stunt "instant death" and compares it to hitting concrete.

Some attempts have resulted in broken necks.

Dennis says social media challenges make people more likely to attempt risky stunts to show off for their friends or impress followers.

He urges people to skip this trend, saying, "It's not worth your life."
