A Bear Lake man was sentenced to 8-40 years of incarceration for delivery causing death in fentanyl fatality.

Today Derek Rosen a 31-year-old was sentenced after providing fentanyl to a 30-year-old Manistee man who overdosed in April 2020.

Brittnay McClarty a 38-year-old was also charged in connection and sentenced to 1-20 years in April.

She agreed in her plea deal to testify against Rosen and did at his preliminary examination back in March.

Nessel said “This sentence reflects the severity of the defendant's role in exacerbating the scourge of the opioid epidemic,” “Fentanyl use and overdose is a tragedy that devastates families across the state and my office will continue to hold accountable, to the fullest extent of the law, those who push this poison in our communities.”
