A Cadillac man was arrested early Thursday morning following a traffic stop in Cadillac.


At 1:10 a.m. Michigan State Police troopers from stopped a vehicle for several violations on Smith Street near Riverside St. in Cadillac.

Troopers tell us they spotted a pistol wedged between the driver seat and center
console.

The driver, 57-year-old Steven James Davis from Cadillac, did not have a permit to carry a concealed pistol.

The pistol, a loaded .357 Smith and Wesson, was not registered.

Police say during his arrest, troopers found a container of meth inside the pocket of his pants. Davis was lodged in the Wexford County Jail.


Davis was arraigned in Wexford County on one count Possession of Methamphetamine, one count Felony Firearms, one count Carrying Concealed Weapon, and one count Driving While License Suspended.

He was given a $100,000 bond and his next scheduled court appearance is on March 5 at 2:00 p.m.
