(NEWSnet/AP) — “Kung Fu Panda 4” stayed at the top of the North American box office in its second weekend in theaters.

The Universal and DreamWorks Animation movie grabbed $30 million in ticket sales, according to studio estimates Sunday.

“Dune: Part Two,” in its third weekend after released, finished a close second, with $29.1 million.

The "Kung Fu Panda" franchise, featuring the voice of Jack Black, has gathered more than $1.9 billion at the box office since it launched in 2008.

Several new movies arrived in more than 1,000 theaters this weekend, including “Arthur the King,” which placed third this week; “The American Society of Magical Negroes”; and “Love Lies Bleeding.”

Concluding the top five were “Imaginary” and “Cabrini.”
