(NEWSnet) – McDonald’s customers will soon be able to add Krispy Kreme doughnuts to their order – whether that be for breakfast or later in the day.

A pilot project with the bakery chain at 160 McDonald’s locations in Kentucky found that “demand exceeded expectations,” and a menu expansion officially starts this spring, according to a Krispy Kreme company press release. Nationwide availability is expected by the end of 2026.

Three Krispy Kreme selections will be available at McDonald’s individually or in a box of six: original glazed, chocolate iced with sprinkles, and chocolate iced with cream filling.

The impact will more than double the restaurant locations where customers can purchase the doughnuts.

“The top request we receive from consumers, every day, is, ‘please bring Krispy Kreme to my town.’ Partnering with McDonald’s on a national scale will provide our fans and doughnut lovers unprecedented daily access to fresh doughnuts and the joy that is Krispy Kreme,” said Krispy Kreme President and CEO Josh Charlesworth.
