Driving Complaint Leads to the Arrest in Grand Traverse Co.
A 19-year-old Traverse City man was arrested after police received numerous calls about a dark blue Audi running stop signs and speeding on Old Mission Peninsula near East Bay Park.
The call took place over several weeks, then on March 16 at 4:45 p.m. troopers found the vehicle in the East Bay Park parking lot.
Troopers tell us he then parked near an intersection where he had been reportedly disregarding stop signs.
A short time later, troopers saw the vehicle ignore a stop sign at E Bay Blvd and Sequioa St. and he was pulled over.
Police tell us during a vehicle search, they found a Hi-Point .45 caliber rifle with a fully loaded magazine underneath a blanket in the backseat of the vehicle.
A double-edged, non-folding knife was also found in a compartment underneath the driver seat.
