WASHINGTON (NEWSnet/AP) — A short list of states is holding presidential primaries Tuesday.

Democratic President Joe Biden and Republican Donald Trump, the former president, both have reached the point in the primary process where they have collected enough state delegates to be the nominees for their respective parties.

But primary season actually lasts a few months, with varying dates among the states.

Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island and Wisconsin will hold presidential primaries for both parties Tuesday.

In addition, there will be runoff elections for other seats in Arkansas and Mississippi; and a non-presidential primary in Wisconsin.
