Tesla Cuts Price of 3 Electric Models in U.S.

(NEWSnet/AP) — Tesla has knocked $2,000 off the price of its S, X and Y electric vehicle models.
Model S price is adjusted to $72,990; Model X, to $77,990; and Model Y, to $42,990.
Price remains fixed for Model 3 and Cybertruck.
The move came a day after Tesla's stock tumbled below $150 per share. The company's stock price has dropped about 40% so far in 2024.
The price cuts ended a long week at Tesla, which announced April 15 it is cutting 10% of its staff, about 14,000 jobs.
The company also is recalling nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks for an accelerator-pedal problem.
In early April, Telsa said its worldwide sales fell sharply from January through March. It was Tesla's first year-over-year quarterly sales decline in nearly four years.
