Presidential Primaries Tuesday in Maryland, Nebraska, West Virginia

(NEWSnet/AP) – Although the nominees are all but official at this point with party delegates won so far, presidential primary season is still in progress.
Three states will have elections for both the Democratic and Republican presidential primaries on Tuesday. Here’s an introduction:
Primaries in Maryland
The options listed on the Maryland Democratic presidential primary ballot are President Joe Biden, Dean Phillips, Marianne Williamson and “uncommitted.”
The options on the Republican presidential primary ballot are Donald Trump and Nikki Haley.
There will be U.S. Senate primaries in Maryland as Democratic incumbent Ben Cardin is retiring. There are 10 Democratic candidates and seven Republican candidates vying for the November ballot.
There also are multiple candidates for three open U.S. House seats.
Only voters registered with a political party can participate in the Maryland primary voting.
In-person early voting ended Thursday. Polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern statewide.
Primaries in Nebraska
The options listed on the Nebraska Democratic presidential primary ballot are Biden, Phillips and a write-in option.
The options on the Republican presidential primary ballot are Haley, Trump, Perry Johnson and a write-in option.
Voters will also decide several contested state primaries, including the U.S. Senate.
Nebraska Republicans have a closed primary; which means only registered Republicans can participate. The Democratic party is open to registered Democrats, independent or unaffiliated voters.
Polls close at 9 p.m. Eastern statewide.
Primaries in West Virginia
The options listed on the West Virginia Democratic presidential primary ballot are Biden, Phillips, Stephen Lyons, Jason Michael Palmer and Armando Perez-Santos.
The options listed on the West Virginia Republican presidential primary ballot are Trump, Haley, Ryan Binkley, Rachael Hanna MoHawk Swift and David Stuckenberg.
There is also a race for governor, a U.S. senate seat and a U.S. congressional this year.
Registered Democrats may vote only in the Democratic primary; registered Republicans may vote only in the Republican primary. Independent or unaffiliated voters may participate in either primary.
Polls close at 7:30 p.m. Eastern statewide.
