(NEWSnet) — McDonald's is set to launch a $5 meal deal in the U.S., but only for a limited time.

The promotion will include four items for $5 — a McChicken or McDouble, four-piece chicken nuggets, fries and a drink — and will run for roughly a month, beginning on June 25.

McDonald's hopes the promotion will bring back customers who were scared away by recent price hikes.

Recently, the fast food giant had come under fire after some locations were charging as much as $18 for a Big Mac meal and $7.29 for an Egg McMuffin.
