(SNH) — It’s officially June, which means the MLB trade rumor mill will begin heating up soon. Every team in the league has played around 60 games already, so we have a good idea of who will be buyers and sellers.

Teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees will be buyers. With big leads in their respective divisions, these teams will be looking to strengthen the fringes of their rosters.

Meanwhile, some of the usual suspects will undoubtedly look to sell whatever they can. The Colorado Rockies, Miami Marlins and Los Angeles Angels will be sellers, but none of those teams have an exceptional amount of trade bait.

Today, let’s identify the three likely sellers who will have the most interesting players to offer.

Chicago White Sox

The Chicago White Sox are dreadful. The team has a 15-45 record, which is the worst mark in the league by six games. The team is the most obvious seller in the league, and general manager Chris Getz has already suggested he will indeed sell.

The White Sox have arguably the best trade candidate in the league in Luis Robert Jr. Though he’s been injured this year, Robert is one of the most exciting outfielders in the league when healthy. The star won a Silver Slugger Award and was an All-Star in 2023. Robert could easily fetch a couple of top-100 prospects in a trade.

Another interesting candidate is starting pitcher Erick Fedde. Fedde has a 4-1 record with a 3.12 ERA in 2024 and is sporting a 1.18 WHIP. The veteran is also affordable, so any contender should look to add the veteran to their staff.

New York Mets

Not many imagined the Mets being sellers in 2024. The team made waves at the 2023 deadline by flipping Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer and Mark Canha. The team could make an even bigger splash in 2024 by trading away sluggers Pete Alonso or J.D Martinez or pitchers Luis Severino or Sean Manaea.

The Mets have a middle-of-the-road farm system, so adding reinforcements would be smart. The team is already 16.5 games back of the division-leading Philadelphia Phillies. With the division slipping away, the Mets should go ahead and cut their losses and build for the future.

Alonso would command a hefty trade package. With the slugger heading to free agency after the season, the team cannot afford to let their star leave for nothing in the offseason. Taking advantage of their trade assets could set the Mets up to contend again in 2024.

Toronto Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays could make this deadline interesting. The team is in last place in arguably the hardest division in baseball. Sitting at 28-30, it’s hard to see a scenario in which the Blue Jays claw their way to a playoff spot in 2024.

So, who could the Blue Jays sell? Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette are the most interesting possibilities. Guerrero is a three-time All-Star, has a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Award, and led the league in home runs in 2021. Bichette is a two-time All-Star and has twice led the American League in hits. Both players are only under contract through 2025, so it’s possible the team could trade them while their value is highest.

General manager Ross Atkins did say trading the two stars “doesn’t make any sense,” but we’ve heard things like that before and players still got traded. There’s no hope of competing in 2024, so why not see if someone will offer a massive package for one or both of these players?
