Cleveland City Offices Expected to Re-Open Wednesday After Cyberattack

CLEVELAND (NEWSnet) – Cleveland's City Hall and related offices are scheduled to reopen at 11 a.m. Wednesday, after having been closed for two days so far over what authorities called a "cyber incident."
According to posts on social media, the city identified “abnormalities in its IT environment,” cut off access to city systems, and has been investigating the extent of the unusual activity. Only essential city hall staff were expected to work.
Details on what exactly was impacted were not released in the meantime, but the city assured residents that the emergency 911 system remained in service.
The Department of Port Control operations for Cleveland Hopkins and Burke Lakefront Airports remained in service; local municipal court work continued, as that is on a different system; and the trash collection and recreation services took place as usual.
