ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (NEWSnet/AP) – Six of the nine people injured Saturday evening during a shooting at a splash park in Michigan have recovered enough to return home.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that three more victims were released from hospital care Tuesday, leaving only three still in the hospital: an 8-year-old boy and two adult women.

The shooter has in the meantime been identified as Michael William Nash, age 42, of Shelby Township. He died by suicide at a home after the mass shooting.

The sheriff’s office said Nash had no known connection to the victims or the park, which is a public play area with fountain sprays that operate in the summer. There were 28 rounds fired at the park.

Rochester Hills is on the north side of the Detroit metro area.
