WASHINGTON (NEWSnet/AP) — Most U.S. adults plan to watch some of Thursday’s presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, according to a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

The debate will begin 9 p.m. Eastern time, is hosted by CNN at the network’s studio in Atlanta.

Thursday’s debate is early in the election season, before either party formally nominates its top candidate. But the expected nominations have been clinched through primary races that are now concluded.

About 6 in 10 U.S. adults say they are “extremely” or “very” likely to watch the debate live or in clips, or read about or listen to commentary about the performance of the candidates in the news or social media.

This debate is one of two that the Biden and Trump parties have currently agreed to, the other one is Sept. 10 and will be hosted by ABC.
