A man was sentenced this week in Clare County on a charge of child abuse.

Paxton Stanley Hoover of Beaverton plead no contest to Child Abuse 2nd Degree, habitual 3rd, in April.

The Clare County Prosecutor tells us the conviction was a result of an investigation conducted by Clare City Police in December of 2022.

He was sentenced to serve 3 years to 10 years in prison with 16 days credit for time already served.

He was also ordered to pay $198 in costs and fines.
